Preston Turns Seven...

Mr. Preston Bird is 7 today! Seven. One year away from being baptized. He refuses to slow down on the whole aging thing, much to his mother's dismay.
I took him out for some picture taking. He's the easiest kid to photograph. He can't stop smiling. It's just his nature to be happy-go-lucky. Even when he got stung by a wasp, he sucked it up and we carried on.
Yeah, that'll make a great memory.
It flew out of the head light of the old truck and stung him in the ear. His first sting, poor kid. I took him inside to get fixed up and grabbed the wasp spray and got rid of them. He said he was good to go.
I love him. Have I ever mentioned that?

He is pretty particular about his hair when it's in a mohawk. He had a substitute teacher one day who commented on how she liked his hair and touched it. He shrugged her off and said not to touch his hair. The same woman called him "Preston" and he said, "Um. That's Mr. Bird". That is what his normal teacher would call him. She told me that she has fallen in love with Preston. Can you blame her?

One day I was in the kitchen and said to him while he was in the living room, "Dear Preston, Please come in here and clean up your toys. Love, Mom."
His response, "Dear Mom, I will in a minute. I am hanging my guy down the stairs (to rescue a fallen friend). Seriously, Preston."
I love it. "Seriously" instead of "Sincerely".

Happy Birthday, Kid.
Thanks for making me laugh each and every day.
