Our ward Christmas Party a.k.a. How Emma kept up the tradition

Our ward parties are always fun, but the Christmas one is the best. Delicious food, friendly faces, and the man himself. We ate a roast beef dinner with all the fixings and desserts (the most important part), too. There was a craft table for the kids when they finished eating so they wouldn't be running around crazy. Then there was a program with the Nativity. After that the primary kids sang Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. In the middle of it arrived Santa Claus! The kids didn't know if they should stop or keep singing. They paused for a second and just kept going til they finished the song. Funny.

Look at Emma's face when she grabbed my phone. Fabulous! So as Santa was jogging around greeting everyone, Emma just stared at him. Like, "What in the world..." Then we got in line to sit on his lap. She was watching him with the kids and turned to me and said, "Ho! Ho!" without me telling her that he says that. Smart girl. So she was fine. I kept telling her how nice Santa is and oh he's so cute, etc. Trying to let her get warmed up to the guy. Then Preston sits on his lap. Still fine. I take his picture and off he goes. Emma's turn! I sit her on his lap and she looks up at him then at me like, "Are you kidding me?" And I back away to take her picture. Yep. Tradition! Just like Hannah and Preston in Christmas' past.

Merry Christmas from The Bird's!
