Happy Birthday Preston!

Today is Preston's 5th Birthday. Where does the time go? I really remember just having him! It was quick, too. Six hours from when they induced me until he was born, compared to my labor of 25 1/2 hours with Hannah, this was fast! I got my epidural and by the time I laid back down, it was time for him to come. Except my epidural hadn't kicked in yet and so I made the doctor and nurses wait even though they told me it wouldn't hurt as bad if I just pushed. Heck no! Do you know me? I don't do anything that involves pain until I can't feel it anymore! Finally I was ready to go. And he came out with the cord around his neck but was alright, unlike Emma. I wondered how it would be to have another baby when I loved my first one so much. But the instant I saw him, I fell in love all over again. It has been so awesome having a son.
Blessing Day
Silly face!
Cowboy...he's a country boy allright!
He loves tractors and all farm related stuff. He loves going to work with Dad. He knows his stuff, too. His Grandpa Bird was looking at a tractor magazine and told Preston "I'll give you 5 bucks if you can tell me what this is." Well Preston didn't know but then pointed at another picture and told his Grandpa, "Will you give me 5 bucks if I know what this is?" And Grandpa said sure. "It's a forage harvester." And he was right! Grandpa said he'd been swindled. It was great.
He loves his Spiderman. He got the red suit from Santa and this black one from us. Once, Emma was walking and about to fall and Preston hurried and caught her, even using a Spiderman style, and said he saved her.
This kid loves his sisters...even though he knows just what buttons to push with them. He likes "sneaking into Hannah's room" when she's at school to play with everything that she normally won't let him touch.
Oh kid, we love you so much! You are the sweetest little guy we know. Happy birthday and keep smiling!

Your son at five is your master, at ten your slave, at fifteen your double, and after that, your friend or your foe, depending on his bringing up. ~Author Unknown
