Preston's tonsils are no more

On Monday the 24th at 5:30 am, we were at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello to get Preston's tonsils removed. I hope you all were enjoying your sleep as we got up at 4:30 am to get ready to go. Well, I was up at 4:30...Lance for a minute to get dressed then he flopped back in bed until I was ready. We went up Sunday afternoon and stayed at the Holiday Inn so we wouldn't have to leave our house at 4 to get there. We took Preston and Emma swimming (Hannah stayed with Blaine and Heather since it was the first day of school Monday morning) and Preston chose to eat at the Golden Corral for his "last meal". Then we got up dark and early to head to the hospital. Preston was pretty nervous but the nurses and everyone were really good to explain things to him. Then an awesome guy nurse came to take Preston to surgery and told him they were going on a rocketship ride (the bed). Preston was fine as he left! I was worried he would cry and not want to go. It was only about 30 minutes and then he was done. He was a little emotional when he came back to us but then was fine, as you can see...
He's holding the bear and stickers they gave him to keep and also his oxygen mask, so he could get used to it and not be scared. He even got to take his bear into surgery for comfort. He's doing good now. Just living the life with popsicles, ice cream, jello, Kool-aid, etc. He's been so good to stay mellow so far. He likes watching his new Tom and Jerry DVD in his room, or other cartoons in the living room. He'll get better just in time for his 5th birthday, where we'll celebrate at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot. He loves that!

P.S. Here's what Emma thought of being up at 5:30 am-
She was actually pretty good, considering we there until 5 pm. There was a play room, she napped, and I took her out to some stores. Thank goodness she's a good baby!
